"Set-up" Team 2011

Following the success of last year’s venture, once again we are planning to run an additional “Set-up Team” in 2011, from Tues 17th to Sun 22nd May.

The objective of this team is to help get the boats ready (cleaned, repaired, painted and anti-fouled etc) and set-up the office and accommodation facilities for the season ahead. This “Set-up Team” will therefore be a rather different team than the usual team format, with a lot of hard work for the most part, but culminating with the launching of the boats and hopefully the first survey of the year (always exciting – last year we encountered our largest ever school of bottlenoses (82 animals) as well as minke whales and harbour porpoises).

Of course, we will still break-up the workload with the usual walks and time-out periods and general evenings of great cuisine, laughter and fun!

More details to follow on this, but for any of our former volunteers who might be interested, we are looking for a contribution for food, drinks (including a fully stocked bar) and accommodation (and perhaps a survey or two at the end, weather allowing) of £200 per person (maximum of 5 persons). For more details or an application form, please email me info@crru.org.uk.

Places awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Looking forward to seeing some of you back again for a fun week!
